Our Finland is an international social community addressed to all people interested in Finland in whatever respect. As there are users from all over the world Our Finland will be provided in English. Please write therefore all your contributions to it only in English as well. Thank you and enjoy Our Finland!

Here you have the chance to find information about Finland, which you don't find anywhere else. You can create a FinBlog and make a continuous story out of it, telling all your experiences you made in during your stay. You can upload your pictures and share them with others.

FinBlogs

With a FinBlog you can post a text and pictures to the community and publish them in a certain Group or simply in the Public Forum.

If you want to tell your story of your journey around Finland you can simply continue your already created FinBlogs and add new pictures and new texts. FinBlogs offer the possibility to choose between a continuous and a single entry. You can make this choice when you create a FinBlog. In case you decide later to change a single into a continuous FinBlog you can change this by simply clicking "Continue this FinBlog" next to your existing FinBlogs.

On the right column you can find My Bookmarks. Out of this collection you can select suitable bookmarks for your FinBlog.

You can tag your FinBlogs so that they can be easily found via the tag-cloud search. Also geo-tagging is possible so you can address your FinBlog to a certain location in Finland.

Send your FinBlogs via SMS or MMS.

SMS: Please register with your mobile phone number (00....) on the portal (click on Edit My Profile) and then you can type your text starting with blog or ! to 00358509020200. The first three words (after blog or !) are used as title of your FinBlog.

MMS: If you want to send a FinBlog containing also a picture message to Our Finland you can do this via MMS. Please send the MMS via e-mail to mmsblog@visitfinland.com and if you have registered your mobile phone number you will find your message displayed in the public forum!

Galleries

In the Galleries you can find selections of uploaded multimedia files from all users. Galleries can also be dedicated to a certain Group or simply to the Public Forum.

On the right column you can find My Bookmarks. Out of this collection you can select suitable bookmarks for your Gallery.

You can tag them so that they can be easily found via the tag-cloud search. Also geo-tagging is possible so you can address your Gallery to a certain location in Finland.

If your Gallery attracts many other users and they rate it accordingly your Gallery will become the Gallery of the week and be presented on the homepage of Our Finland.

Via the Multimedia-library you find access to your full set of uploaded multimedia content. There you can easily edit and organize it.

Groups

Groups are always dedicated to a certain topic. This can be a location, an activity, and event, whatever you can think of. If you create a group you offer other users a platform to discuss and provide suitable content to your topic. As soon as you joined a group you can add FinBlogs or Galleries to it. So you can find community content dealing with a certain topic collected in the according Groups.

Featured Experts

Special community members, who can provide special know-ledge and experience in a certain area are approved by the community masters as Featured Experts. This shall offer you a quality assurance about the information they provide.

Ratings

You can rate others' FinBlogs, Galleries and Travel Plans. You can also rate throughout the whole VisitFinland accommodations, destinations, restaurants, events, etc. Simply click on the item to see the detailed view of it and you can add your rating and your comment.

My Travel Plan

You have the possibility to plan your trip by collecting all pages, information, blogs etc. you find on VisitFinland and that are of interest for you in My Travel Plan. With this you can arrange the accommodations, events, activities, etc. and you can share it with others to let them participate in your trip and keep the ones at home up-to-date. Comments

You can add your comment to every FinBlog or Gallery on the according detailed view. You can also comment any rating you make in VisitFinland.

Members

Here you see all members of Our Finland and have a look on their information they provided. When you click on your name next to your picture on the left side you can see what the others can see from you.

My Bookmarks

To help you to navigate through VisitFinland you can bookmark the pages you want by clicking on on the right column in the My Bookmarks section on bookmarkable pages. You can also add external bookmarks to have quickly all relevant links you need available. Out of your collection of bookmarks you can choose which one to add to your FinBlogs or Galleries to support others with additional information or to underline your experiences.
