Architect Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) had a major influence on the architecture of his hometown Jyväskylä. Alvar Aalto museum at Jyväskylä is dedicated to one of the world's great architects. There are several buildings designed by him in this region, representing the whole range of his creative production. Comparison of his designs within such a compact area is only possible in this region.
Neste Oil Rally Finland
The Rally, which was held in 1951 for the first time, is the biggest motor sports event in Scandinavia, gathering over 200 000 spectators along the roads of Central Finland every year.
