Mänttä-Vilppula is a beautiful town with museums and cultural events.

Mänttä-Vilppula offers a look at the history of the Finnish forest industry, the golden age of Finnish art and contemporary art, live piano music, jazz and organ music. Visitors can enjoy nature by biking, canoeing, boating, fishing or simply taking a walk in the park.

Virrat is an ideal place to enjoy a peaceful and active holiday.

In Virrat you can go exploring, fishing or canoeing - or simply enjoy the idyllic lake scenery. The landscape is full of beautiful and rugged nature, including the Toriseva cliffs and the traditional village on Marttinen Island. There are direct boat services from Tampere to Virrat on the S/S Tarjanne. You can also take a day cruise on the M/S Kimalle between Virrat and Ruovesi.

Ruovesi is known for its beautiful scenery and old Finnish cultural heritage.

J.L. Runeberg, Akseli Gallen-Kallela, Ellen Thesleff and many other Finnish cultural figures have left an indelible mark on the Ruovesi area. Excellent places to visit are Helvetinjärvi National Park and Helvetinkolu Gorge, the Siikaneva wetlands, the Poet's Spring and the Murole and Visuvesi canals.

Juupajoki's famous rapids and inn are just a railbus ride from Tampere.

Juupajoki's location is excellent, since the main roads to the region go through here and the rail bus from Tampere to Mänttä-Vilppula stops in Korkeakoski, which is the municipal centre. Outdoor activities include fishing, horse-riding, hiking and canoeing.
