Hämeelinna offers an array of vacation and leisure possibilities. Finland's oldest inland city has many stories to tell. You may get acquintanted with stories in museums and exhibitions and when visiting Aulanko park and Evo hiking area.

Aulanko's unique park area and vacation centre about 5 km outside of Hämeenlinna city centre shows the visitor a good time with a variety of different services and leisure time possibilities. In this area, you will find a new spa, restaurants, two golf courses, exercise possibilities, a beaty spa, culture, beautiful nature paths, the stop of the inland water cruise boat and different possibilities for accommodation.

Linna peninsula is located about half a kilometer from the city centre. While you are here, you may visit the Häme Castle, Finnish Artillery Museum, Hämeenlinna Historical Museum and the Prison Museum because they are all located in this same area. Verkatehdas is a new culture and congress centre situated in the centre of Hämeenlinna. Here you can attend an abundance of events, such as concerts and performances and to top it all off there is a conference centre, cinema and a restaurant, all in the premises of this old factory.

Evo hiking area in Lammi, about 44 km from the city centre is one of the largest forest areas in Southern Finland. You will find it suitable for a couple days of hiking and while you are here, you can go fishing too. The area has marked routes and you can spend the night in the shelters or camping sites along the road.
